Privacy Policy

BreedTools does not require user accounts to access its calculators, tools, or educational content. For general tool usage, BreedTools does not intentionally collect personal information such as names, mailing addresses, or payment card details.

Calculator and planning tools are designed to work without transmitting your entered values to BreedTools servers for storage. The Animal Weight Tracker stores data locally in your browser using IndexedDB so your saved entries remain on your device. BreedTools cannot view that locally stored tracker data. You can export or delete it at any time from within the tool.

BreedTools uses Google Analytics to understand general site usage, such as page views, approximate device information, and broad traffic patterns. This information is used in aggregated form to help improve the site and understand which pages and tools are most useful.

Google Analytics sets its own cookies to understand usage patterns and site activity, and the Impact affiliate network sets two cookies so that a purchase made through an affiliate link can be credited to this site (see Affiliate Links below). You can manage, block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the site works the same without them. BreedTools does not use advertising cookies for third-party ad targeting.

BreedTools does not sell personal information. Limited data may be processed by third-party services that support site functionality, analytics, hosting, and donations, subject to those providers' own policies.

Donations, when available, are processed securely by Stripe. BreedTools does not store payment card information.

Some product recommendations are affiliate links (the shop and browse links in product boxes and checklist tips): Amazon Associates links, and Chewy links through the Impact affiliate network. Nothing about you is sent to Amazon until you click one of its affiliate links. The Impact network's measurement script does load with each page: it sets two cookies (IR_gbd and IR_MPS) and one browser-storage key (impact-referral), and records that the page was shown (an "impression"), so that a purchase you later make through an affiliate link can be credited to BreedTools. It does not read the information you type into any tool. You can block or clear these cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site works the same without them. An automated browser test before every release checks that the script sets and sends nothing beyond this.

After you click an affiliate link, the retailer or its affiliate network records that the visit came from BreedTools so it can pay a commission on what you buy; from that moment their own privacy policies apply: Amazon's, Chewy's, and Impact's are linked below. Readers in the United States may see a Chewy link beside an Amazon link for the same product; the choice of store is made in your browser from the country your connection reports and is not stored.
